\r\nStraight out of hell, an Unholy Ritual. Possessed from the very depths of hell, their morbid silhouettes emerge, ready to entwine the world in the darkest veil of Erebus. Speaking of which, the vocalist spits his cursed soul out seeking salvation that never comes. Accompanied, through this crawling chaos, by the Blasphemous blasting of another savage and tormented soul the eerie sound of this album leads you to a bottomless abyss where you pray for release to a weak and lame God that failed and is now hiding in shame to avoid disgrace. Pitch black darkness, decay and never ending hate.

\r\nInto the light..as a title it brings to mind other situations that have nothing to do with the songs of this cd. Where can you see the light really? Basic stuff: the rhythm is slow in the most part as the band plays in a doom/death style with, basically doom though, as their death direction has to do more with the vocals. A lot of melancholy and vocals that are between clean-growling, a fact that wakes you up from the darkness that this album causes both musically and lyrically speaking.

\r\nThe time has come, indeed. With only one member from the original line-up (Buttons), ROT is back in the music industry with a killer album. The vocals that remind of (I underline this, they only remind of) Nick Holmes, Phil Anselmo and Eddie Vedder (insert many wows here) and the music direction that varies very much is what features their music mostly. They have so many elements from so many musical scenes that they really intrigue you as you can’t predict what the next song will sound like.

\r\nSatyricon is surely a familiar name among the blacksters, and this cult image and the legend around their name didn’t came by chance, since they are considered of the pioneers of Norwegian black metal. Two years after the release of the excellent “Now Diabolical” Satyricon return to wreck havoc with this release.
