\r\nIf I must put a label on Deadlock’s music, the word would be “schizophrenic”. Deadlock could be another metal core band, but they’re not. They could be an average female fronted band, but they’re not that either. I will have to admit that their music, although it sounds simple, is sometimes extremely complicated. That’s because Deadlock have filled their compositions with various and diverse elements so that is extremely difficult to define their music identity.

\r\nThese youngsters (at least based on what we can see on their photos) have extreme proportions of energy and what’s best than letting it flow through their music. They use metalcore structures and thrash riffing – old school thrash to be accurate- giving this way an absolutely thunderous result that will blow your mind.

Well, it seems that some values stand the test of time. When it comes to Saxon no introductions are necessary. Saxon are of that kind of bands that always release high standard albums, something extremely difficult and rare for a band that serves the metal scene for almost 25 years, a large number of studio and live albums are there to prove that true.

Well it is a fact that all of those bands that have in their names the word “doom” are making me a good first impression, thankfully these guys from Thessalonica despite their cleverly picked name Wishdoom (Wish – Doom) they also praise the whole epic doom metal movement with their music. Being well prepared they offered us their first demo entitled “Up The Hammers”.

\r\nThis album confused me a lot. While there are good moments in it and songs that appeal to you from the first hearing, there are also ones that are pretty tiring, not to say indifferent. Nice, powerful riffing, with lots of references to Iron Maiden classic musical patterns up to Slipknot “advanced” musical forms. Expressive vocals and beautiful vocals lines. Clever breaks and “full” rhythm section.

\r\nI don’t think that there’s anyone out there who haven’t heard of Doro Pesch. For those who might not know her I will say that Doro is simply the ultimate Metal Queen. This lady (or legend more likely) is celebrating her 25 years in the metal scene. For 25 years she delivers pure rock and heavy metal either with Warlock,at the beginning of her career, or with her solo albums. So what better way there is to celebrate this anniversary than the release of this album.

Well, no much to say about Grave Digger, which with their long and devoted offer to the German Metal scene, have nothing more to prove. The Diggers have reached glorious fame, especially in our country, some years ago, when they published "Tunes Of War" concept (based on "Braveheart") album, but the releases that followed, haven’t been anything special. During those years some experienced musicians of the local scene, such as Manni Schmidt (ex-RAGE) and Thilo Herrmann (ex-Running Wild), have joined forces with the band.

\r\nNothing original, yet not bad or indifferent at all. On the contrary, the five-member band with the female vocals in the front and the male ones as backing has lots of nerve, groove and a lot of freshness. Sevendust meets Lacuna Coil for those who are interested in such an approach of a band’s musical identity. We keep the prog musical style and the sweet melodies in the vocals and here’s the result.

A couple of days ago I ve been writing again a review for this band. Root hailing from Czech Republic, and this time I hate re released their album “The book” (1999). In this particular opus, Root left behind the black / death metal direction of their first releases and put in their music something that t can describe as dark epic metal. Root sounds like the band that played the Arcturus style of metal, before Arcturus emphasizing on their dark and “weird” style.
