\r\nBlackwinds is the side project of Setherial’s drummer Lord Mysteriies along with Setherial’s guitarist Lord Kraath who is handling the vocals in this new album "Flesh inferno" and with guest musician Zathanel at the bass section. I suppose you are you already intrigued by the name of Setherial.

\r\nThe concept behind the new album of Crystallion is the battle of Hattin, and the artwork gives us a little bit of an idea of the cd content. The rhythm section is fast enough, covered by pompous riffs and powerful vocals, and there we have the picture. Musically, it’s a Sonata Artica meets Stratovarius kind of style, combining speed and lyricism, while the very good production helps a lot in having the result which the band might expect and also in fιtting together with the epic feeling which derives from said battle theme.\r\n

I would never imagine a big label like Metal Blade would sign a band like this today! It’s 2008 and Hatchet seem to be under the impression that we are back in the days when Thrash Metal was living its glory days. We leave out the fact; Thrash Metal is more and more rising again with releases which are – in their majority – above average. In fact some of them are really good. I’ll be brief as far as Awaiting Evil is concerned since we are looking at a release for which less is more. We are listening to a mixture of Slayer with the Bay Area Thrash we love.

\r\nThe debute album of "Year Long Disaster", as the name of the band, has the unique capability of travelling us back in time and remind us the good years of ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin etc. May this album has little to do with Metal, since it has more Rock influences, but in reality this album is related with Metal, since it has influences from Black Sabbath and its whole mentality refers to something harder. the band however has focused more on the Rock side of music and introduces us an album, which has already been discussed and its future will be much better.

\r\nMany times ( if not always) when I don’t have a good mood I turn to music. I turn to things I have and still love but also in new projects that would give me shelter and make me feel better even for a little while. These days I admit I don’t have the time of my life. But fortunately I got «our» Randomwalk debut album and they instantly touched my soul.

The Swedish death metal outfit, Coldworker has return with the continuing of their fist album “The Contaminated Void” and the progress of the band is obvious.

The Finish with their previous EP “Tapetum Lucidum” (2007) really gave us something to hope for, but with their new album “Under the Spell of the Unlight” leave us wondering “Why Gloomy Grim never got the popularity they deserved??”

Here we have another band from Italy and this time in the Death Metal genre. So this is about the band “Mutala” and their second effort, “Cloning Wicked Minds”.
\r\nSo, Mutala tries to combine the American sound of Death metal with the European one, and especially the Swedish one. It’s a fact that they did it very well , from the brutality of Suffocation can easily pass to more “At The Gates” forms and with such a success. I also discover some Dark Traquillity passages mainly on some intros and preludes that sound more melodically.

This quintet comes from Italy and to be more specific, Treviso. The album “Prisoners Of Steel”is their first effort of Burning Black  in which the guys perform very well , some good old heavy metal influenced by the masters of the genre. The vocals stand very good, with many high pitched parts. The structure of the tracks is in the classic shape of the genre, with sharp edged riffs and in specific parts we can also hear some arpeggios.

\r\nWar, ice, destruction and... Hail Of Bullets! I’ve heard a lot about this band and I admit being very curious when I put this album in my layer. The wait is over and so...Of Frost And War started to fuld the speakers. First of all wew should mention that this band was created by the singer of Asphyx Martin Van Drunen, so for those who are already fans of the band they should be prepared. The love of the band member’s for Old -School Death Metal is more than obvious and so their love for Bolt Thrower.
