Running Wild… One of the very few names that bound their name with true heavy metal by creating their unique sound, releasing wonderful LPs, performing greatly at their live shows and gaining thousands of fanatic followers and enemies in the same time.\r\n

\r\nThe trademark band of German – and not only – power metal, announced its final split-up a few days ago with a statement from their leader Rock N Rolf (Rolf Kasparek) and filled its fans all over the world and all fans of true heavy metal with grief! Hard times for pirates, aye Captain Rolf?

\r\nWhen we talk about American power metal, we usually think of the great “Ample Destruction” of the titans Jag Panzer and in my opinion – as well as other’s too – very rightfully.

\r\nHeavy metal history, especially in the 80s, is full of examples of bands like Cities. That is, bands which released an amazing debut album but afterwards lacked the luck, the technical abilities or the skills to build a career based on their first success.

\r\nThe New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (simply referred as NWOBHM), which started forming in the late 70’s and exploded during the 1980-82 era, had many heroes. Some of them big (Iron Maiden, Saxon), some of them small (does anyone remember White Spirit or Gaskin?) and some others that stood somewhere in between, releasing some good material through the 80’s but never managing to endure both artistically and commercially.
